Lamborghini Aventador is a supercar that has been attracting the attention of countless car enthusiasts since its launch in 2011, due to its powerful engine, sharp appearance, and advanced technology. However, all good things must come to an end, and in July 2021, Lamborghini announced that the Aventador will cease production in 2022 and introduced the final limited edition model - the Ultimae, which means "ultimate" or "final." This model takes the Aventador's performance, design, and technology to the extreme and serves as the best tribute to this legendary sports car.
The production of Ultimae is only 350 hardtop versions and 250 convertible versions, including an additional 15 units that Lamborghini produced to make up for a sunken cargo ship in March 2022. These car models are all customized, and each one has its own unique features and story. Today, we will introduce one hardtop version of Ultimae to everyone.
Appearance: Gray killer
The body of this Ultimae car is painted in Grigio Acheso, which is a kind of matte grey color that requires an additional payment of $17,500. This color gives a subtle and mysterious feeling, in line with the identity of the Ultimae. The body's lines and details have been carefully designed, retaining the classic elements of the Aventador while also adding some new features.
In the front part of the car, the Ultimae uses the front bumper of the Aventador S, equipped with the active front air intake and aerodynamic channel system of Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0, which can automatically adjust the airflow according to the driving mode and speed, improving the stability and downforce of the vehicle. The headlights are xenon headlights with a cleaning function, and there is also a set of rear fog lights at the rear, increasing the safety of driving at night. On both sides of the car body, the Ultimae is equipped with carbon fiber mirror shells, which form a sharp contrast with the body color and also reduce the weight of the car. The doors open in a scissor-style, which is a signature design of Lamborghini, giving a sense of luxury and aggression.
In the rear section, the Ultimae draws inspiration from the design of the Aventador SVJ, using a large fixed rear wing to provide increased downforce and enhance the vehicle's sporty feel. The rear bumper is also made of carbon fiber, matching the style of the front bumper. The LED taillights are Y-shaped, echoing the Lamborghini logo. The quad exhaust pipes are black, creating a contrast with the body color and delivering a strong visual impact and sound effect.
In terms of the wheels, the Ultimae comes with optional 20-inch and 21-inch Leirion forged central locking wheel hubs, at an additional cost of $7K. The design of these wheel hubs is both attractive and practical, enhancing the vehicle's handling and braking performance. The tires are Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, designed specifically for the racetrack to provide better grip and durability. The braking system features carbon ceramic brake discs and Blu Amon colored brake calipers, which complement the interior decor and highlight the uniqueness of the Ultimae.
Interior: luxurious black and blue alternating design
The interior decoration of this Ultimae car is a combination of Nero Ade and Blu Amon, that is, black and blue, giving a noble and elegant feeling. The seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and center console are all made of high-quality leather and Alcantara materials, with blue stitching that forms a harmonious contrast with the body color. There is also an Ultimae badge inside the car, located near the A-pillar, displaying the car's number and limited edition status.
The car's interior features and equipment are also very rich, including a Lamborghini infotainment system that can be controlled through a central touchscreen, providing functions such as navigation, music, phone, and vehicle information. The sound system is the Lamborghini Sensonum sound system, an optional configuration that costs $4,200. This sound system has 10 speakers and a subwoofer, providing excellent sound quality and effects, allowing the driver to enjoy music while experiencing speed. The car also has an automatic air conditioning system, which can adjust air volume and direction according to the temperature and humidity in the car, maintaining the interior's comfort.
The steering wheel is a multifunction steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara material, providing a comfortable grip and increased gripping power. It features shift paddles, volume control, phone answer, and driving mode selection buttons, making it convenient for the driver to operate while driving. The instrument panel is a TFT LCD digital instrument panel that can display a changing redline tachometer, speed and fuel level indicators, as well as auxiliary gauges such as oil temperature and oil pressure.
Power: a powerful V12 engine
The power source of this Ultimae is a 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine, which is also the last model of Lamborghini to use this type of engine. Future models will use a hybrid powertrain. This engine has been optimized with the use of titanium alloy intake valves, allowing it to achieve a maximum power output of 769 horsepower and a maximum torque of 531 pound-feet, an increase of 39 horsepower and 22 pound-feet compared to the standard Aventador.
The sound of this engine is also very thrilling, which can allow the driver to feel the wildness and passion of the Lamborghini. The engine cover is made of transparent carbon fiber material, which allows people to appreciate the charm of the engine, and also comes with a carbon fiber X-shaped brace and T-shaped cover, increasing the rigidity and beauty of the vehicle. These configurations are all optional and cost $7,000.
This engine is matched with a seven-speed single-clutch ISR automatic transmission, which can provide fast and smooth gear shifts. It also has a manual mode, allowing the driver to control gear shifts through the shift paddles on the steering wheel. The gearbox also includes a Haldex all-wheel drive system, which can automatically distribute torque to the front and rear wheels based on the vehicle's driving conditions, enhancing traction and stability. There is also a limited-slip differential on the rear wheels, which provides better handling when cornering.
The performance data of this Ultimae is also very impressive. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers/hour in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 355 kilometers/hour, which is 0.2 seconds and 5 kilometers/hour faster than the standard version of the Aventador. This car also has four driving modes: Strada (street), Sport (sport), Corsa (track), and Ego (custom), which can adjust the vehicle's power, suspension, steering, and aerodynamics according to the driver's preferences and road conditions, providing different driving experiences.
The Lamborghini 2022 Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae is a collectible gem worth preserving. It is not only the final model in the Aventador series, but also the last Lamborghini to feature a V12 naturally aspirated engine, serving as the ultimate tribute to this legendary supercar. Its exterior, interior, power, and performance all reach the pinnacle, making it one of Lamborghini's masterpieces. With extremely limited production, each unit possesses its own unique features and stories, making it a dream car for Lamborghini enthusiasts and collectors.
