Recently, Dongfeng Peugeot officially announced that the flagship 7-seat version of the Peugeot 5008 is now available as an option, with an official guide price of $32K. Positioned as the top-of-the-line version in the entire range, it has seen upgrades in terms of its configuration.
As a new model, the new car has no changes in its appearance. The front face adopts a geometric grille design that is characteristic of the brand. The interior uses a gradient dot-matrix structure for decoration, creating a strong visual impact. The headlight assembly features a smoked black treatment, connected to the grille, creating a strong sense of unity in appearance. The daytime running lights are located in the bumper, creating a "fang-shaped" design, which is a distinctive design language.
The lower part of the surround is designed with a three-section design, with vertical layout of the deflector grooves on the side fenders, which can improve aerodynamic performance; the bottom is a small-sized polygonal air intake design, internally decorated with a banner-style structure, bringing a certain sense of hierarchy.
In terms of side profile design, the roof line is relatively straight, and the two-tone body creates a floating roof, giving the style a more modern feel; the waistline is designed with segmented lines, adding a sense of depth to the side of the car; the wheel arches and side skirts feature raised black decorative panels, adding a sense of strength; the wheels have a multi-spoke design, which is relatively simple in style.
In terms of the rear styling, the roof is equipped with a relatively large-sized spoiler, and the taillights have a small and delicate design with a smoked finish, making them very distinctive when illuminated. The trapezoid license plate frame is located at the lower part of the tailgate, while the bottom is fitted with a sturdy black bumper. The exhaust pipes are arranged in a dual-sided layout.
In terms of dimensions, the length, width, and height of the new car are 4670/1855/1655mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2840mm. It is positioned as a midsize SUV.
The interior design belongs to a family-oriented style, with features such as a dual multifunction steering wheel, full LCD instrument panel, floating central control screen, and electronic gear lever. The overall color scheme is mainly black, with added touches of suede leather material, presenting a very impressive texture.
In terms of configuration, the new car has added LED headlights with static cornering assist lighting function, automatic folding of the exterior rearview mirrors when the car is in reverse, black roof, 19-inch wheels, front seat massage function, and acoustic laminated front door windows, and so on. The suggested retail price is $5.5K higher than the second top configuration.
In terms of power, the new car is still equipped with a 1.8T engine, with a maximum power of 211 horsepower and a peak torque of 300N·m. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the suspension remains a front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam combination.
