According to the latest news, the listing date for the element UP has been confirmed to be within March, and sale will begin March 19th.
In terms of exterior design, a closed grille with black decorative panels above is used to connect the LED headlights on both sides of the front end. In the center, the "Yuan" character from the Wey logo, rendered in small seal script, is continued from the dynasty network models. The guide grooves are relatively large, matching the trapezoidal air intake.
The car body dimensions are 4310x1830x1675mm, with a wheelbase of 2620mm, positioning it as a small SUV. The body lines slightly rise at the rear window, while the roofline at the same position presses downward and narrows at the corner window, giving the rear end a relatively solid appearance. In terms of the wheels, it features 17-inch, five-spoke, low-resistance design rims, further enhancing the sportiness of the entire vehicle.
The area of the rear window is relatively small, which makes the lower part of the rear of the car seem relatively narrow. The wide, curvy profile is complemented by the continuous taillights and large wraparound bumper, as well as the wide silver trim, which enhances its sporty feel.
In terms of interior design, the overall layout is simple and generous, in line with the aesthetic concept of today's consumers. The center console is equipped with a full LCD instrument panel and a floating touch screen, enhancing the technological sense inside the car. The seats are designed as a whole, and the steering wheel has a four-spoke flat-bottom design, paired with a crystal electronic gear lever, providing a good driving experience.
In terms of power options, the three configurations currently released can be categorized into two versions based on their driving range, with the options offering 301km and 401km of range. The corresponding power outputs for the driving motors are 70kW and 130kW. The vehicles are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries and support fast charging. They also feature a MacPherson independent suspension system at the front and a torsion beam non-independent suspension system at the rear.
As for the price, the starting price of the Yuan UP is around $11K, which puts it in a moderate position in BYD's product lineup that can attract consumers without significantly impacting the market.
